Philadelphia Union midfielder Michael Lahoud has been called up to the Sierra Leone National Team for the second leg of a 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match May 31 against the national team of Swaziland, the club announced today. Lahoud and his squad will take on Swaziland at their home venue in Sierra Leone.
The 27-year-old midfielder will be available for selection this Sunday versus Los Angeles Galaxy and depart for international duty following the match. He will be unavailable for the Union’s game against Chivas USA (May 31).
Lahoud was also called up for the first leg against Swaziland on May 18. He played the full 90 minutes, helping Sierra Leone earn a 1-1 draw in the AFCON qualifier. Previously, the midfielder was selected to play in a 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifying match Sept. 7, 2013 against Equatorial Guinea. Lahoud joined the Union in 2012 from Chivas USA and has since appeared in over 30 matches for the club.
