Iloski records second hat trick of the season; Vassilev adds a goal and two assists in victory over Orlando City SC
Philadelphia Union forward Milan Iloski and midfielder Indiana Vassilev have been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 28 following their performances in the Union’s 4-2 victory over Orlando City SC on September 26 at Subaru Park. The selections mark Iloski’s third Team of the Matchday honor of the season and Vassilev’s second.
Iloski recorded his second hat trick of the season, while Vassilev contributed a goal and two assists to help Philadelphia earn their sixth consecutive MLS victory and extend their unbeaten streak to a club-record 12 matches. The Union also became the first team in MLS history to score at least four goals in four consecutive regular-season matches.

Iloski opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 11th minute before adding a second goal in the 19th minute off assists from Vassilev and Nathan Harriel. After Vassilev extended Philadelphia’s lead early in the second half, Iloski completed his hat trick in the 51st minute with a long-range finish assisted by Vassilev and Jovan Lukic. Vassilev’s goal was his fourth of the season, while his two assists brought his season total to six, tied for third most on the team.
With the performance, Iloski became just the third player in Union history to record multiple hat tricks in the same season, joining Julián Carranza and Dániel Gazdag, who each accomplished the feat during the 2022 campaign.
Iloski’s three-goal performance brought his season total to 16 goals, the fourth-highest total in MLS this season. He is one of only five players in the league to reach that mark. His hat trick was also the 15th MLS hat trick in club history and the 13th recorded at Subaru Park.
