Philadelphia Union today announced that defender Olivier Mbaizo has received an international call-up for Cameroon. The defender is part of three international call-ups in June for the Union which includes Andre Blake (Jamaica) and Jose Martinez (Venezuela).
Mbaizo joins the Cameroon National Team for the first round of the Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers. This is Mbaizo's ninth senior call up for Cameroon as they prepare for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Mbaizo earned 11 senior international caps for the Indomitable Lions, his first when he made his debut as a substitute in a friendly vs. Gabon on September 6, 2016. Cameroon will play their first qualifier match Burundi (Jun. 8, 9:00 a.m.).
