Philadelphia Union today announced that the club has acquired Jamaican international Brian Brown on loan from Harbour View FC for the remainder of the Major League Soccer season. The 2013-14 National Premier League Golden Boot winner will be available for match selection tonight when the Union take on the Colorado Rapids at 7 p.m. at PPL Park. Per MLS and club policy, terms of the deal will not be disclosed.
Brown netted 20 goals in 32 appearances this past season for the “Stars of the East.” Prior to joining Harbour View, Brown played for Montego Bay United, scoring three goals in 17 appearances during the 2012-13 season.
The 21-year-old striker has also suited up for the Jamaican National Team alongside Union rookie goalkeeper Andre Blake. Brown played 19 minutes in a 1-0 loss to Trinidad & Tobago on November 15, 2013.
