Philadelphia Union Homegrown Trio Earn First Senior U.S. Men's National Team Call-Ups

USMNT Call Up All 3 1920x1080

Cavan Sullivan, Neil Pierre, and Frankie Westfield become the latest Homegrowns to reach the senior national team

Philadelphia Union, in conjunction with U.S. Soccer, announced today that Homegrowns Cavan Sullivan, Neil Pierre and Frankie Westfield have been called up to the United States Men's National Team for upcoming friendlies against Peru on September 26 (4:30 p.m. ET) in Florida, Chile on September 29 (8:00 p.m. ET) in Missouri, Mexico on October 3 (10:00 p.m. ET) in Arizona and Canada on October 6 (8:00 p.m. ET) in Minnesota.

The selections mark a historic milestone for the Union Academy, with three Homegrowns earning their first senior national team call-ups as products of the club’s player development pathway. The Philadelphia Union now have 11 Homegrowns who have earned a senior USMNT call-up. Philadelphia also leads all MLS clubs with three players selected to the 28-man roster.

Sullivan's first senior call-up comes amid a record-breaking 2026 campaign. The 16-year-old has recorded six goals and 11 assists in 23 MLS appearances and recently became the youngest player in league history, and the first teenager, to record a goal contribution in seven consecutive regular-season matches. Sullivan has previously represented the United States at the youth level, making 12 appearances and scoring four goals with the U-17 National Team, including representing the U.S. at the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Pierre receives his first senior national team selection following a breakthrough season in Philadelphia's back line. The 18-year-old has scored four goals in just 10 MLS appearances this season, setting a new Union single-season record for goals by a defender. A standout throughout the U.S. youth national team system, Pierre has made 17 appearances with the U-17s and nine with the U-19s.

Westfield earns his first senior call-up after recording eight assists this season, the second-most on the team, while playing a key role on both sides of the ball. Internationally, Westfield has made 10 appearances for the United States U-20 National Team, registering one goal and one assist, and represented the United States at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

In addition to the Union's three current selections, former Homegrowns Matt Freese and Auston Trusty are also on the roster, giving the USMNT five players who came through the Philadelphia Union Academy.
