Philadelphia Union II’s Jett Harrison and Sammy Gallego made their MLS NEXT Pro debuts against Red Bull New York II at MSU Soccer Park!
In the 62nd minute, 16-year-old midfielder Gallego and 18-year-old defender Harrison replaced Kellan LeBlanc and Giovanny Sequera. In addition to his first pro appearance, Gallego was also recently named to the 2026 MLS NEXT All-Star Game presented by Allstate alongside Philadelphia Union Academy teammate, Abdoulaye Diop, marking the fourth time that the Union Academy had multiple players to be selected for this honor.Â
During Gallego’s time in the Academy, he scored nine goals, provided 10 assists and added nine secondary assists across his 37 academy appearances. Gallego was also a key member of last year’s Union U-15s team that won MLS NEXT Cup, where he was named Finals MVP.
Next up, Union II will take on New England Revolution II on July 5th at 11 a.m. ET in Beirne Stadium.
