Philadelphia Union have announced today the resigning of ThiagoCapo12 until 2025 following a strong eMLS rookie season in 2023. Thiago Vazquez will continue to represent the Union on the virtual pitch after qualifying for the final stage of Leagues Series 1, Leagues Series 2, and eMLS Cup.

“Being re-signed by the Philadelphia Union for another year is an incredible honor and source of motivation for me. It's a testament to the hard work and dedication I've put in as a professional EA FC player.” Vazquez said. “Representing the Union in the eMLS has been a thrilling experience, and to continue this journey with their support is truly special. I'm grateful for the trust they've placed in me, and I'm eager to continue giving my all to bring success to the Union in the virtual pitch. I am also extremely grateful for the Union fans, who have shown their support to me not only in social media, but also in person at games and events that we’ve had in the stadium.”

In 2023, Thiago began his eMLS campaign coming out of a tough group in LS1 featuring NYC Gustavo (NYC), eMLS veteran GODFATHER (CLB), FaZe Clan’s VillaMore3 (LAG), and Complexity’s Joskan (NSH). Finishing undefeated with 2 wins and 2 draws. In the knockout round Thiago was narrowly defeated by defending champion PauloNeto, who ended up winning the LS1 Final.

Following his solid display in LS1, Thiago once again saw himself qualify out of the group stage and into the knockout rounds where he defeated Houston’s and Portland's players 6-2 and 5-0 respectively. Thiago finished the groups with a 2-1-1 record. Once again in the knockout stage Thiago suffered a narrow in extra time this time to KingCJ0.

The highlight of his rookie eMLS Campaign, Thiago clinched his spot in eMLS Cup by winning the Last Chance Qualifiers. Thiago was placed in Group B beating Godfather (3-2), Doolsta (2-1) and DonBorello (4-2) to finish top of the group. During the Knockout stage he beat BenR (12-4), Pabs (8-4) in aggregate scores. Finally overcoming Timber’s Cpt_Bruno in a 9-3 aggregate scoreline to be crowned winner and securing spot in eMLS Cup.

Unfortunately, Thiago only made as far as the first round losing out to KingCJ0 of DC United once again. With the 2024 eMLS season the horizon, Thiago is looking build on his impressive rookie season.

Ahead of the 2024 eMLS Thiago says “In year 2, I'm excited about the prospect of building on the foundation we laid in this previous year. Last year I was a rookie, and a lot of people doubted that I would be able to perform under the pressure of playing one of the best leagues in the world, however, I never doubted myself, and after being one of the only players to never get knocked out in the group stages, and winning eMLS Last Chance Qualifier, I think I’ve shown why I deserve to be here.”

"This year was very good and successful, but for me it’s not enough. I have always seen myself as a competitive animal, and I am aware the EA FC eSports landscape is always challenging, but I see it as an opportunity for growth and improvement, as I am continuously focused on refining my skills and adapting to the ever-evolving meta. Together with the Philadelphia Union and its passionate fans, I'm looking forward to making our mark in eMLS and achieving the glory we deserve."
