Philadelphia Union announced today that the club has traded defender Bakary Soumare to the Chicago Fire in exchange for allocation money and a 2014 MLS SuperDraft natural second-round pick. Per MLS and club policy, terms of the deal will not be disclosed.
“We are thankful for Bakary’s contributions to the Union and wish him the best of luck as he continues his career,” said Team Manager John Hackworth.
Soumare, 27, originally signed with the Union in June of 2012 and has since appeared in four matches for the club.
