The match will take place one week after Philly’s 1-1 draw in Houston, and after leaving Texas with a point, they’ve dropped to third in the East behind FC Cincinnati by a single point and Nashville SC by the league's third tiebreaker which is goals scored with the Tennessee side with 42 compared to the Union's 40.
With just four points separating the first and fourth spot in the conference and Miami trailing with 41 points and three games in hand, the top of the Eastern Conference is incredibly crowded, and every result ahead could shake up the standings.
As for Colorado, they sit at 7th in the West, hovering above the playoff line with 30 points. With 10 regular season matches remaining for both teams, Saturday’s match is a consequential one for both sides, as every point at this stage of the season can have major implications for postseason seeding, and for Philly, their hopes of staying in the Supporters Shield race, which is led by the top four teams in the East.
