"The Philadelphia Union is encouraged by the State of Pennsylvania’s announcement increasing the capacity of attendees at outdoor events to 20%. We appreciate their hard work and commitment to creating and maintaining a safe environment for PA residents. We also thank them for maintaining a strong line of communication with our staff. While the increase in capacity is indeed a step in the right direction, we are hopeful that the State will consider larger outdoor event capacity guidelines in an accelerated timeline.
Philadelphia fans are the best in the country and the heartbeat of our city’s sports teams. We look forward to welcoming back fans to the Union’s Concacaf Champions League game on April 14 and the beginning of the Major League Soccer season the weekend of April 17-18, further details to be announced. The Union will continue to have a strict set of protocols for fan safety at each game, which were created in consultation with local health officials, Major League Soccer, and the league’s health and safety experts."
