Subaru Love Promise Playmaker: Tim Sherry

Ahead of Philadelphia Union's contest first home contest at Subaru Park against New York Red Bulls on Tuesday night, we're proud to announce tonight's Subaru Love Promise Playmaker is Tim Sherry.


A graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School and West Chester University, Tim Sherry began a career in broadcasting as News Director and Play by Play Announcer of local high school sports at WCOJ in Chester County. After three years, he then transitioned into a 22 year career in broadcast advertising with KYW Newsradio, Comcast Spotlight, and 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia. Tim concluded his 25 year run in the broadcasting industry and moved into the technology sector where he is currently AWS Alliance Director with Jefferson Frank, a global I-T recruitment firm.


In addition to his professional career, Tim has been continually active in the community. Tim and his college friend Paul Isenberg are Co-Founders of Bringing Hope Home, a $2 million foundation which pays essential household bills for families with cancer in six states, primarily in the Philadelphia region. Since 2008, Bringing Hope Home has helped over 6,400 families. For 20 years, Tim and Paul have Co-Emceed their signature event, the Annual Great Guys Dinner, attended by 600 local business executives, dignitaries, and local celebrities including the Philly Six College Basketball Coaches. Bringing Hope Home also raises hundreds of thousands of dollars each year through other events, their community schools’, and Adopt a Family Programs.


For over 20 years, Tim has also been a board member of the Valor Bowl a charity event which showcases senior all-star high school football players with proceeds benefitting Special Olympics and the Believe and Achieve Foundation. Additionally, Tim along with Comedian Joe Conklin created the Annual Celebrity Sports Roast, benefiting Philadelphia Coaches vs. Cancer Hope Lodge. Hope Lodge is a home away from home for cancer patients being treated in the Philadelphia area from out of town.


More recently during the COVID-19 period while most things went into lockdown, Tim coordinated a fundraising effort to help a local restaurant and to feed area first responders. Giving back runs in the family as Tim’s 84-year-old Mom Gerry, was recently honored as a Shining Star for being the chief fundraiser for National Alliance on Mental Illness Lehigh Valley and for her thousands of hours of volunteering for Meals on Wheels.


Tim resides in Chester County with his wife Tolly of 31 years, a Reading Specialist in the Great Valley School District for 35 yrs and they have two sons, Drew and Brad.
