Philadelphia Union Announce 2020 Preseason Schedule

Union return to Clearwater for training; to play seven preseason matches ahead of start of 2020 season

CHESTER, Pa. (Dec. 20, 2019) – Coming off their best season to date, Philadelphia Union announced today their 2020 preseason schedule, where they return to the club’s base in Clearwater, Florida for the sixth consecutive season. The team will host two camps in Clearwater, preceded by in-market training at a new facility for the Union, the 76ers Fieldhouse in Delaware.

The Union report to Philadelphia for entrance physicals on Saturday, Jan. 18, followed by on-field training at the 76ers Fieldhouse located in Wilmington, DE from Jan. 20 – Jan. 25.

Following a week of in-market training, the Union fly to Florida to begin the first of two sessions in Clearwater. During their time in Florida, the club will play seven matches, opponents TBD.

The first camp runs from Jan. 27 through Feb. 6 and will include three scrimmages: Jan. 29, 11:00 a.m. at IMG Academy; Feb. 1, time TBD at Joe DiMaggio Sports Complex; and Feb. 5, 7:00 p.m. at Joe DiMaggio Sports Complex.

After a return to Philadelphia from Feb. 7-10, the Union head back to Clearwater for a second camp that runs from Feb. 11 – Feb. 23. This camp includes another four scrimmages: Feb. 12, 4:00 p.m. at IMG Academy; Feb. 15, time TBD at Al Lang Stadium; and Feb. 22, 7:00 p.m. at Joe DiMaggio Sports Complex.

Additionally, the Union will host a game on Feb. 19 vs. FC Dallas in a preview matchup of their season opener. The game, being played at Joe DiMaggio Sports Complex, begins at 12:00 p.m. and will be open to the public. The game will immediately be followed by the annual Union Fan Event. Tickets to attend the match will available for purchase at the gate only.

The Union will also host their annual clinic on Feb. 18 at Joe DiMaggio Sports Complex from 6:00-8:00 p.m. For more information and to register please click here.

The Union fly back to Philadelphia on Feb. 23 ahead of the 2020 Major League Soccer regular season, which sees the club open the season on the road to play against FC Dallas on Feb. 29. Upon return, the club will host its annual “MLS is Back” week leading into the season opener. During that week supporters can expect numerous fan festivities, including fan favorite Meet the Team.
