Union Youth To Compete at Disney President’s Day Tournament

Philadelphia Union Youth will test their skills against some of the best youth clubs in the United States as they head south this weekend to compete in Disney President’s Day Tournament. The event will take place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida.

Seven teams from Player Pathway Program will represent the Union badge at the national tournament which will feature teams from across the country in a highly competitive environment.

“This event is a unique opportunity to play against organizations outside of our region, and to experience different styles of play, coaching, cultures, and challenges for our players,” said Phil Griffiths, Union Youth Technical Director.

The Philadelphia Union Youth’s PPP is an invite-only, supplemental training program based around the player’s club schedule.

Group Play starts up on Saturday, February 18^th and will conclude the following day with three games taking place during the two-day span. During the Group Stage, select matches will be streamed by the tournament with each Union Youth Team featured at least once for a total of nine contests.
