PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

 

2018 (Philadelphia): Dockal made 31 regular-season appearances (30 starts), with 30 appearances coming at central attacking midfield and one at central midfield. He totaled five goals and a league-leading 18 assists. He made his club and league debut with a start vs. Columbus (March 17) and notched his first helper for the Union with an assist on Alejandro Bedoya's goal vs. San Jose (April 7). He then scored his first goal for the Union, the game-winning goal, vs. D.C. United (April 28) and was named to the MLS Team of the Week (Week 9) for his efforts. He earned another TOTW nod, contributing toward three goals with a one-goal, two-assist performance in a 4-1 win over Real Salt Lake (May 19). He registered his first MLS brace as part of a 4-0 win over Vancouver (June 23) and was again named to the MLS Team of the Week (Week 17); was also named MLS Player of the Week (Week 17), the eighth individual in Union history to earn that recognition. He notched a two-assist match, including the game-winning helper, in a 3-1 victory at Houston (July 25) and was again named to the MLS Team of the Week. Moving up the leaderboard, he tied for the league lead with his 14th assist of the season at Orlando (September 1), and took the league lead with his 15th vs. Montreal (September 15). He recorded two assists, taking the outright MLS lead again, and setting a new Union single-season record in the 5-1 win over Minnesota (September 6). Internationally, he was called up by the Czech Republic ahead of two UEFA Nations League contests, at Slovakia (October 13) and at Ukraine (October 16). Serving as the team captain, he started both matches, notching two assists in the first, a 2-1 win over Slovakia. On Decision Day, notched his 18th assist of the year, securing the league lead in the category, at NYCFC (October 28). He also started the club's Knockout Round match at NYCFC (October 31). In the 2018 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, Dockal made four appearances (four starts) at central attacking midfield, notching one assist. He made his first career appearance in the tournament with a start at central attacking midfield in the Round of 16 win over the Red Bulls (June 16). He also added a game-winning assist on Cory Burke's first goal in the Semifinals win over Chicago (August 8).

 

2016-17 (Sparta Prague/Henan Jianye): Dockal advanced out of the Group Stage of the UEFA Europa League for the second srtraight season and added four goals and three assists in the Czech topflight before joining Chinese club Henan Jianye ahead of the 2017 campaign. He made 23 appearances in China, scoring four goals and adding five assists.

 

2015-16 (Sparta Prague): Playing in 47 matches across all competitions, Dockal totaled 13 goals and 13 assists, including eight and seven, respectively, in the Czech topflight. He appeared in two UEFA Champions League qualification contests as well as 12 matches in the UEFA Europa League, as he helped his club into the Quarterfinals of that competition.

 

2014-15 (Sparta Prague): In his second season with Sparta Prague, Dockal tallied 10 goals and added four assists in the league. He also appeared four times in UEFA Champions League qualification and eight times in the UEFA Europa League

 

2013-14 (Sparta Prague): Dockal returned to his native country to join AC Sparta Prague in the Czech topflight, exploding for a two-goal, 20-assist season en route to the league title. He recorded three multi-assist games, including a three-assist performance on August 31, 2013 vs. Banik Ostrava.

 

2012-13 (Rosenborg): Making 29 appearances across all competitions, Dockal totaled 10 goals and 10 assists over the span, including two goals and three assists in the UEFA Europa League. 

 

2011-12 (Rosenborg): Breaking out with his first double-digit goal-scoring campaign, Dockal tallied 10 goals and added six assists in the league for Rosenborg. He also scored six times in Norwegian Cup play and appeared in two UEFA Europa League matches.

 

2010-11 (Konyaspor/Slovan Liberec/Rosenborg): Dockal began the season on loan in Turkey with Konyaspor, where he played in nine matches. He then returned to Slovan Liberec, scoring two goals over 13 matches in the Czech Republic, before finally joining Norwegian club Rosenborg on a permanent basis. He scored twice and added six assists over 13 topflight matches in Norway.

 

2009-10 (Slovan Liberec): In his third year with Slovan Liberec, Dockal registered five goals and three assists over 29 appearances. He also appeared in four UEFA Europa League qualification contests.

 

2008-09 (Slovan Liberec): Dockal totaled five goals and two assists for Slovan Liberec in the Czech topflight. He also appeared in two UEFA Cup qualification contests.

 

2007-08 (SK Kladno/Slovan Liberec): The midfielder made 14 topflight appearances for SK Kladno while on loan, ahead of permanently joining Slovan Liberec, where he made 14 more appearances, all in the Czech topflight.

 

2006-07 (Slavia Prague): Dockal made his first professional appearance at age 18 for Czech topfight club Slavia Prague. He made six appearance in his debut season for the club, scoring his first goal and notching his first assist in the same match, against FK Teplice on November 27, 2006 .

 

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

 

Dockal has earned 38 caps for the Czech Republic and has served as the team's captain. He made his debut on February 6, 2013 in an international friendly against Turkey and scored his first goal in FIFA World Cup qualification on October 15, 2013 vs. Bulgaria. He was a part of the Czech squad at UEFA Euro 2016, appearing in the Group Stage against Turkey, and most recently played for his country in qualification matches ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

 

He earned his first call-up as a member of the Union in 2018 ahead of the Czech Republic's debut in the UEFA Nations League, but he could not attend due to injury. One month later, he joined the team ahead of their next round of UEFA Nations League matches, at Slovakia (October 13) and at Ukraine (October 16). As the team's captain, he started both matches, assisting twice in the first contest, a 2-1 win. He was called in again ahead of friendly at Poland (November 15), which he started in a 1-0 win, and a UEFA Nations League match vs. Slovakia in Prague (November 19).
