The U15 portion of the 2019 GA Cup began today in Dallas and Philadelphia Union’s academy began well with a 2-0 win over CF Monterrey.
Chris Brewer’s squad has been strong throughout the opening portion of 2019 and they continued that play with a powerful display against a talented opponent. A run down the left to open play in the center resulted in the opener and Brewer complimented his side’s energy.
“It was our pressure and competitiveness that were the cause of the win so that was nice,” he said after the match.
The Union face two more LigaMX sides tomorrow. First up is Marco Fabian’s former team Chivas Guadalajara at 10:00 a.m. ET, followed by Cruz Azul at 8:00 p.m. ET.
