Union to participate in "Soccer For All" week with Pride events

Philadelphia Union Unveil 2019 Pride Weekend Initiatives

Ahead of June 8 home game, the club reveals a series of events to celebrate inclusion as a part of “Soccer for All” platform

CHESTER, Pa. (May 28, 2019) – Philadelphia Union today announced a series of Pride Weekend events as a part of “Soccer for All”, a league-wide initiative dedicated to providing an environment in which staff, players, partners and fans are treated with dignity and respect regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, gender identity, disability, sexual orientation or socioeconomic status.

In conjunction with the Philadelphia Union’s home game against league rival New York Red Bulls, the club is hosting the following events:

Pride Weekend Kickoff Party - Soccer in the Streets
Friday, June 7 from 6pm-10pm

The Pride Weekend Kickoff Party hosted by Sean Brace will feature a "Soccer for All" mini soccer field set up for 5v5 soccer in the street at the corner of 12th and Locust. The Philadelphia Falcons -- the only LGBTQA soccer club in the Philly area -- will be there along with Stonewall Sports, which provides recreational and educational events to Philly's LGBTQIA+ community. 

Pride Night at Talen Energy Stadium, presented by Visit St. Pete Clearwater
Saturday, June 8 at 7:30pm

Pre-game fans can take photos at the Pride Photo spot, get a temporary tattoo from Union Chief Tattoo Officer Bonedaddys, or dive for prizes in the adult ball pit from Visit St. Pete-Clearwater

Additionally, limited-edition Pride warm-up tops from Adidas will be available for purchase at the Union Shop. The first 5000 fans will receive a Pride Rally Bandana courtesy of Visit St. Pete-Clearwater.
