Philadelphia Union will kick off its a series of Pride Weekend events Friday night at the corner of 12th and Locust with a "Soccer for All" soccer in the streets event. “Soccer for All” is league-wide initiative dedicated to providing an environment in which staff, players, partners and fans are treated with dignity and respect regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, gender identity, disability, sexual orientation or socioeconomic status.
The Pride Weekend Kickoff Party hosted by Sean Brace will feature a "Soccer for All" mini soccer field set up for 5v5 soccer in the street at the corner of 12th and Locust. The Philadelphia Falcons -- the only LGBTQA soccer club in the Philly area -- will be there along with Stonewall Sports, which provides recreational and educational events to Philly's LGBTQIA+ community. The event will begin at 6PM and run through 10 PM.
All this leads up to Saturday night's Pride Match against rivals New York Red Bull on Saturday, June 8, at 7:30 p.m. The match will also see the Union Shop filled with the Union's Pride training top, hats and scarves for purchase.
