Mexico 3,  Canada 1

  • In a measuring stick contest for the Canadians, misses opportunities saw Mexico walked away with three points and it's 50th overall victory in the tournament. Roberto Alvarado opened the scoring for El Tri just before halftime to send the favorites into the break with momentum on their side.
  • The match changed on two shots as former Vancouver Whitecaps forward Alphonso Davies missed an equalizer just inches wide of the post and on the ensuring buildup for Mexico, substitute Andres Guardado scored his first of two goals in the 54th minute. While Lucas Cavallini trimmed the deficit to 2-1, Canada are left wondering what if the match had been tied by Davies.

Martinique 3, Cuba 0

  • With both sides needing convincing results to get out of group play, Martinique found the back of the net three times against a 10-man Cuba who were without their captain and anchor Yasmany Lopez.
  • In the physical affair, Kevin Fortune led the way finding Joris Marveaux just before halftime. After setting up Stephane Abaul in the second half, Fortune completed his strong night with a goal of his own late.
