In August, Philadelphia Union will celebrate the American military in the week leading up to a showdown with the Houston Dynamo.
First, the military branches go head to head in short-sided soccer matches on the Battleship New Jersey on August 6! Every branch will be represented as current and former military members try to take home the top spot in an extremely unique setting for soccer. The winners will be honored and recognized at the match against the Dynamo as they enjoy a premium experience (including club passes and free limited edition swag!).
On August 11, the Union will welcome and celebrate all military members during their 6:00 p.m. ET matchup with Dynamo. Operation Yellow Ribbon will run a military care package collection drive on the Toyota Plaza. Fans can bring items on the list below and include a hand-written letter to go with the items when they are shipped to military members overseas.
Members of the military branches will also be on Toyota Plaza conducting activities for fans to participate in prior to the match. Players will wear limited edition military-inspired warm-up tops from Adidas, and the Union Shop will sell a small quantity of these tops along with military-themed scarves and hats.
Before the match, the West Point Parachute Team will deliver the ball to the pitch for the first kick.
