El Brujo the top under-the-radar signing

As squads across the Major League Soccer landscape begin to finalize preseason plans and players make final arrangements before arriving for preseason, MLSSoccer.com's Greg Seltzer put together his list of the top five under-the-radar signings of the offseason.

While flashy signings of designated players always capture all the attention (rightfully so for newest DP midfielder Jamiro Monteiro), there are always players that don't get much press and at the end of the season play a key role in the success of a squad in the their road to the postseason. Philadelphia Union struck gold with Kacper Przybylko and Kai Wagner and the Boys in Blue occupy the top spot according to Seltzer with the addition of defensive midfielder Jose Andres Martinez.

"Philly look set to turn the defensive midfield spot over to a space-shrinking destroyer," Seltzer writes. "Martinez won't just coolly pick your pocket, he'll race it down field or hit a pillowy lead ball. He's quick, he's surgical and he's why opponents will need to rewrite their books on the Union midfield in 2020. The days of free passage through Zone 14 in the 610 appear to be over, and their counterattacking ability is a bigger concern."
