Wednesday night was a memorable one for Philadelphia Union fans as homegrowns Brenden Aaronson and Mark McKenzie shined for the Stars and Stripes in their 6-0 win over El Salvador.

Suiting up for the USMNT for the second times in their young careers, the Union duo went the full distance for Head Coach Gregg Berhalter in the final national team match of 2020. McKenzie held down the backline in his first start for the U.S., while his soon-to-be former teammate rose up to the challenge set forth by Berhalter with his first national team goal and an assist.

Aaronson broke into the stat sheet with a key pass for the United States in the 23rd minute of play, threading a pass through the El Salvador defense that was capped off via a chipped goal by LA Galaxy forward Sebastian Lletget.

After nearly scoring moments later, Aaronson bagged his first goal senior team goal in the 50th minute. Racing into the box, the Medford, NJ., native calmly collected a pass from Lletget and fired it on frame that crashed off a defender and into the net.
