In the 51st minute, forward Chris Donovan doubled the Union lead with a right footed shot from just outside the box, slipping it past the outstretched reach of the Cincinnati keeper, assisted by Jesus Bueno. Cincinnati would quickly grab a goal back in the 54th minute as Arquimides Ordonez scored a right footed shot off a cross sent in by Morgan Marshall. Bueno earned his first MLS Next Pro brace in the 57th minute after receiving a pinpoint pass in the box from Paxten Aaronson and striking across goal and into the bottom right corner of the net. Cincinnati claimed a final goal in the 85th minute as Kai Thomas won a header off a corner kick sent in by Harrison Robledo.
