Union II opened the scoring in the second half in the 47th minute when forward Chris Donovan scored his third MLS NEXT Pro goal of the season. New England responded in the 63rd minute with a goal by Marcos Dias. Union II regained the lead in the 76th minute when forward Chris Donovan netted his second goal of the match. Union II extended the lead in the 81st minute when defender Olwethu Makhanya found the back of the net, securing three points on the road for Union II.
