Philadelphia Union II looks to bounce back to its winning ways as they face off against an offensive juggurnaunt in Chicago Fire II on Friday night in the Windy City. Don't miss the action with MLS Season Pass on Apple TV starting at 8PM ET.
The Boys in Blue under the direction of Head Coach Ryan Richter are coming off a 2-0 loss to first place New York Red Bulls II with the Eastern Conference rivals doing their damage courtesy of a first-half brace from Mijahir Jimenez. The loss was just the third of the season for Union II and they'll look to avoid their first losing streak of the season as they face off against Chicago Fire II that have shot up the standings and are only four points behind Philly.
Chicago rolls into the contest with a four-match unbeaten streak and have done so with their offense with a league-best 52 goals. Union II counter however with the league's best defense with only 19 goals allowed in 20 league games. The offensive output was on full display in July for the Windy City side, scoring nine goals against Red Bulls II to set a new MLS NEXT Pro record. Claudio Caasano has been pulling the strings for the side with 3 goals and 3 assists in July and could make history this week by claiming MLS NEXT Pro’s regular-season assists record.
