UnionII-Preview-051125

Union II, the defending Eastern Conference champions, are the only unbeaten team in all of MLS Next Pro, and on Sunday, they’ll look to keep that streak alive against Columbus Crew 2.

Head Coach Ryan Richter’s squad will return to Subaru Park for the first time in over a month on Sunday; their last home match was a 5-1 rout against Atlanta United 2 on April 10th. Since then, they’ve added four more points to their total, handily defeating NYCFC II on the road, then emerging victorious in a intense shootout against conference leader Chattanooga on the road.

After a scoreless 90 minutes in Tennessee, the match went to a 12-round shootout that finished 9-8 in favor of the Boys in Blue.

Richter and his group have enjoyed quite the start to the season with two wins, four draws, and zero losses, and they have a chance to continuing climbing up the standings should they take all three points from Columbus Crew 2, who currently sit at the very bottom of the Eastern Conference standings with just 5 points. Over their first six matches, Crew has earned one win, two draws, and three losses.

It all goes down on Sunday afternoon at Subaru Park – click here for tickets to watch the next generation of Union talent compete on the riverfront.
