Philadelphia Union II looks to cap off July unbeaten as they take their nine-game streak south for a showdown against Carolina Core FC on Wednesday night. Don't miss the action starting at 7:30PM on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV!

Union II continued its winning ways with another dominating peformance on the road against rivals New York City FC on Saturday afternoon. While they grabbed the win against, the squad will feel there was more left on the pitch as they were left frustrated at the break without a goal despite an 18-2 shot advantage after the first half. They unlocked the scoring in the second half however with Markus Anderson finding the back of the net at the hour mark while 16-year-old Malik Jakupovic continued his scoring ways with his sixth goal of the season in just five professional appearances for the 2-0 win.

Wednesday's match could see Union II jump into the top spot in the conference at the end of the night with the club tied with New York Red Bulls II with 39 points and the New York side not playing until Thursday evening.

Union II and Carolina Core meet for just the second time ever this week with Union II grabbing a 2-0 road victory last season. Nick Pariano scored his first-ever goal with the club in the third minute via a penalty kick and CJ Olney sealed the deal with a 77th minute strike.

Carolina finds itself five points below the playoff line through 18 matchdays and have yet to claim three points in nearly two months with their last win coming via a 1-0 victory over Orlando City B on Wednesday, June 11. Since then, they've played seven games and taken three games to penalty kick shootouts where they have won twice. One of shootout wins came in their last match back on July 19th where they played down a man for over a hour and conceeded late to Atlanta United 2 in the 90th minute.
