Recap | Union II fall to NYCFC II in 5-0 loss

Philadelphia Union II continued play in MLS NEXT Pro with a 5-0 loss against New York City FC II on Monday night at Subaru Park.

New York FC II controlled possession through the first 45 minutes of play. Andres Jasson opened scoring in the seventh minute with a left footed shot from outside the box, assisted by Stephen Turnbull. John Denis then scored on a free kick to the top left corner to give New York a 2-0 lead entering halftime, despite NYCFC II being outshot by Union II eight to five.

Second half play began with a second yellow card caution for Union II striker Jose Riasco in the 57th minute, leaving Philadelphia a man down for the remainder of the second half. NYCFC II took advantage moments later on a Massimo Murania Yankowitz strike to the back of the net. Jack Beer then scored from outside the box in the 80th minute. Jonathan Jimenez scored from the center of the box to give NYCFC II a 5-0 victory.
