Philadelphia Union II earned MLS Next Pro Team of the Matchweek honors after a dominant 5-1 performance against New York Red Bulls.

The award is a well-deserved one, as Head Coach Marlon LeBlanc’s squad is the top team in the entire league with 23 points. Despite being one of the youngest groups, they’ve collected six wins, three draws, and just one loss since the start of the season, with the most recent three-point swing coming on the road against their rivals.

In the match, David Vazquez and Markus Anderson stole the show with a pair of goals for each, while 17-year-old Eddy Davis III opened the match with his fifth goal of the year in the 10th minute. For Anderson, a first-team signing who joined the club during preseason, the match was his first back from injury, and he made his mark with four shots and a brace in just 27 minutes played.

Union II has been unbeaten in their past three matchups, and they’ll look to extend that streak against Columbus Crew 2 on their home pitch at Subaru Park on Sunday night. Want to watch the next generation of Union talent in action? Click here for tickets!
