For the fifth time in 2025, Philadelphia Union II has been named MLS NEXT Pro Team of the Matchweek, the league announced on Monday afternoon.

This time, the honor comes after a dominant home win against Chicago Fire II in a clash of the top teams in the Eastern Conference.

Stas Korzeniowski netted his first professional brace to lead the Boys in Blue to a resounding 5-2 victory over Chicago, with the forward scoring in both halves. Korzeniowski opened the scoring on a counter attack in the 15th minute and did so again in the 66th to bookend a total team performance from Union II as they continue their push for a high seed for the MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs. Sal Olivas added to the first half scoring, putting home a counter attack off a Cavan Sullivan assist. The Union homegrown then converted from the penalty spot at the hour mark to add to his Sunday stat line while Malik Jakupovic came off the bench and scored his team-leading eighth goal of 2025.

Goalkeeper George Marks in just his second start with Union II was strong between the sticks, making a club-best 10 saves in the contest to stiffle any comeback from the Windy City side.

With just two games left in the MLS NEXT Pro season, Union II sits in second place just three points out of first. The Boys in Blue look to get level on points this weekend as they head north of the border for its final regular season road contest as they take on Toronto FC II on Friday, September 26th. Kick off from York Lions Stadium is set for 7PM with coverage on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
