Goalkeeper Andre Blake has yet another Independence Blue Cross Achievement Unlocked for his Philadelphia Union career with the latest coming Wednesday night came against the Columbus Crew.

The No. 1 pick in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft, Blake registered his 500th MLS save with a major fashion to seal three points for the Boys in Blue.

Mayhem in the box allowed a loose ball to dribble free at the top of the six yard box and Marlon Hairston spun around Jakob Glesnes to find himself in alone on Blake. The Jamaican stayed big and Hairston’s attempt at slotting it past the goalkeeper’s hip was met with a strong hand that pushed the ball right back at the attacker for career save No. 500.

The two-time MLS Goalkeeper of the Year enters the international break the league leader with six MLS shutouts including four of the last five contests. In all competitions, Blake and the defense have locked down the opposition nine times in 2021.
