Chester, PA (September 25, 2021) – The Philadelphia Union beat Atlanta United FC 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Subaru Park. With the win, the Union jump to fourth place in the Eastern Conference with 38 points. In the first half, the Union outshot Atlanta twelve to four but couldn’t find a way past Atlanta keeper Brad Guzan. Forward Kacper Przybylko scored the lone goal of the match, slotting a Jose Martinez cross past the keeper in the 70th minute. The late game strike was the forward’s ninth goal of the MLS season, passing his 2020 total of eight. Martinez recorded his third assist of the season, dancing past two Atlanta United defenders along the sideline to provide the perfect pass for Przybylko in the box. Goalkeeper Andre Blake recorded two crucial saves in his ninth clean sheet of the MLS season. Jakob Glesnes and Jack Elliott both provided three important clearances each in a win that improves the Union’s playoff standing late in the season.
