Chester, PA (October 31, 2021) – The Philadelphia Union earned three points in a 2-0 home victory over FC Cincinnati. With the win the Union move up to second place in the Eastern Conference, level on points with third place Nashville SC, and ahead of fourth place New York City FC by three points. Daniel Gazdag opened up the scoring in the 11th minute, deflecting an Olivier Mbaizo shot past the Cincinnati keeper. In the first half the Union outshot Cincinnati 10-4. The second goal for the Union came in the 53rd minute, off a shot from homegrown midfielder Paxten Aaronson. Fellow Homegrown Jack McGlynn provided the pass to Aaronson on the edge of the box, Aaronson taking a dribble to his left and burying the shot into the bottom right corner. Andre Blake earned his 12th clean sheet of the season in the win (50th career), tying Zac MacMath’s 2013 club record for clean sheets in a season.

The Union are away at Yankee Stadium Sunday afternoon, taking on New York City FC in the last regular season game of the season. (3:30 p.m. ET / PHL17).
