By the numbers | Philly's Supporters' Shield-winning regular season

10-4-vsNYC-194

The Philadelphia Union enjoyed one of their best regular seasons in club history, lifting the Supporters' Shield at home for the second time after securing the best overall record in all of Major League Soccer. As the postseason approaches, here's a look into the team's historic year by the numbers.

#1 in MLS

With the best overall record, Philadelphia Union finished the top team in all of Major League Soccer, securing the shield and home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

2 players named finalists for MLS Defender of the Year

Of the three MLS Defender of the Year finalists, two are Philadelphia Union players, as both centerback Jakob Glesnes and left back Kai Wagner earned nods. The recognition is well-deserved, as the team boasted the best defenses in all of Major League soccer.

20 wins

Philadelphia Union broke a club record for wins in a season, claiming their 20th against New York CIty at home -- the same result that claimed the shield. Their most successful month of the year was their busiest. In May, they played nine games across all competitions without a single loss, securing four regular season victories during that span.

14 clean sheets

Andre Blake and Andrew Rick Jr. shared minutes between the posts this season, combining for an impressive 14 clean sheets. With the help of Philadelphia Union's press and a best-in-class defense, they totaled the most shutouts of any keeper corps in Major League Soccer.

16 home wins

Head Coach Bradley Carnell led his team to 16 home wins this season, dropping just one of their 17 regular season outings at Subaru Park. In his first year leading the team, Carnell earned three Coach of the Week awards and became just the third coach in MLS history to lead multiple clubs to at least 55 points in his debut season, deservedly becoming a Sigi Schmid MLS Coach of the Year finalist.

18 goalscorers

Collective team effort across the roster has been an everpresent theme throughout Philly's entire season, and it reflected in their attacking success, as 18 different players hit the back of the net. Seven of those players were first time MLS goalscorers in 2025.

+22 goal differential

Philadelphia Union far outpaced their goal differentials from the 2023 and 2024 seasons, finishing with their third-highest in club history. The only other seasons they finished better were 2020, which was the last time they secured the shield, and 2022, the year they competed in MLS Cup.

25 different starters

In his first year at the helm, Head Coach Bradley Carnell leaned on the depth of his team, rotating his group often due to certain matchups, international call-ups, injuries, and congested schedules. 25 different players appeared in his starting XI.

29 unique starting lineups

With 25 different starters, Carnell and his staff crafted an impressive 29 unique starting lineups over 34 matchdays.

35 goals against
