1 - It’s the first time in club history Philadelphia Union will face San Diego FC, a 2025 expansion team. In their first season, the Californian side finished the top seed in the Western Conference with 63 points accumulated over 19 wins, six draws, and nine losses.
2 - As usual, the Philadelphia Union will play every Eastern Conference team twice during the regular season – once at home, and once on the road. 2026 also marks Head Coach Bradley Carnell's second season at the helm.
3 - Each year, the Union faces six Western Conference teams. Three of those are hosted at Subaru Park. In 2026, San Jose Earthquakes, Seattle Sounders, and Real Salt Lake will each make the trip to Philadelphia during the regular season. The three Western Conference opponents Philly will face on the road are San Diego FC, Austin FC, and Sporting Kansas City.
4 - In 2026, the team’s home opener will be an afternoon match – the Boys in Blue will take on the New York City FC at 4:30pm on March 1st.
6 - The busiest month of the 2026 campaign will be October with the Boys in Blue set to play six matches comprised of back-to-back three games in seven day stretches.
7 - At least seven teams on the Philadelphia Union's 2026 schedule will start the year with a new Head Coach. At the time of Major League Soccer's schedule release, New York Red Bulls, Atlanta United, New England Revolution, D.C. United, Sporting Kansas City, and CF Montréal had all announced they'd part ways with the team leader they started 2025 with.
14 - The Boys in Blue will visit 14 different states or provinces during their 2026 campaign with stops in Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio, Massachusetts, Florida, New York, Texas, New Jersey, California, Kansas, Illinois, Tennessee, Quebec and Ontario.
17 - Philadelphia Union will play 17 regular season home matches in 2026. In 2025, they went unbeaten in 16 of 17 on the riverfront. They have 17 on the road as well – in 2025, they went unbeaten in 10 away from home – setting a record for the most road wins in club history with 8. The 2026 season will also mark Philadelphia Union’s 17th in Major League Soccer.
19 - On Sunday, August 19th, Philadelphia Union will play a road match against New York City at Yankee Stadium. It will be the last time Philadelphia Union faces their I-95 rival on a baseball field, as the club's new stadium is set to open ahead of the 2027 season.
26 - 2026 is a FIFA World Cup year, and it’ll be hosted in North America with games taking place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The league will take a pause for the tournament during the summer. The team’s last game before the World Cup will be a marquee matchup against Inter Miami on May 24th in Fort Lauderdale, and they’ll return to play just under two months later on July 22nd at home against New York Red Bulls. During that time off, Philadelphia Union’s own, Danley Jean Jacques will compete for Haiti.
27 - 2026 is the last regular season before the Major League Soccer schedule shift in its competition calendar, aligning the league’s schedule with the world’s top soccer leagues with a summer-to-spring season format which will begin in 2027. Before the calendar change, MLS will stage a transition season from February to May 2027, featuring a 14-game regular season, playoffs, and MLS Cup. Those results will determine 2027 qualification for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, Canadian Championship, Leagues Cup, and Concacaf Champions Cup.
