It was a tight contest as to whom would emerge as the Independence Blue Cross Player of August but at the final count the Union faithful selected Daniel Gazdag after his historic month.
The Hungarian midfielder scored six goals and added four assists in August, scoring his first hat trick against the Colorado Rapids. Gazdag's hat trick against the Colorado Rapids pushed him even closer to the single-season scoring record which he officially surpassed with his goal against Atlanta United FC on the final day of August.
