Philadelphia Union to face FC Cincinnati in Eastern Conference Semifinals

MOVING ON_16x9

Philadelphia Union completed its first round sweep on Wednesday night, taking down New England Revolution by a 1-0 margin to advance to its third-consecutive Eastern Conference Semifinal where they will face off against Supporters' Shield winners FC Cincinnati.

The winner-takes-all match will take place November 25th or 26th with the official kick off time to be announced in the near future. Be sure to sign up for our official team newsletter so you are one of the first to get information about official #StrikeGold Watch Parties.

The Union and Cincinnati have squared off twice so far in 2023 with the opening match going the Ohio side's way by a 1-0 margin. While FC Cincinnati claimed the victory, they didn't get the Union's best squad as the team was preparing itself for Atlas FC in the Concacaf Champions League Quarterfinal four days later. Despite a rotated squad, Philly showcased its never quit attitude to hold strong but end up falling by a penalty kick goal late in the second half. The second contest saw the Boys in Blue jump out to a two-goal lead in the first half courtesy of goals from Jose Martinez and Daniel Gazdag. The top team in the league showed its promise in the second half with substitute Aaron Boupendza cutting the deficit in half only four minutes after play resumed and then Brandon Vazquez completed the comeback.
