Philadelphia Union knows its opponent for the Audi 2021 MLS Cup Playoffs Conference Semifinals as the club will host Nashville SC on Sunday, November 28th. Kick off from Subaru Park is set for 5:30 p.m. ET with the contest broadcast on ESPN and ESPN Deportes.
The Union nabbed the No. 2 seed after a 2021 season that saw the club finish 14-8-12 in the regular season to claim a home field advantage in the first two contests of the playoffs. The Union advanced to the Eastern Conference Semifinals after a thrilling 1-0 extra time victory over rivals New York Red Bulls courtesy of the latest goal in MLS history scored by Jakob Glesnes in the 123rd minute.
During the regular season the two sides squared off twice with the home side emerging victories. The Union dropped the first matchup in July with a second-minute counter attack from CJ Sapong proving to be the difference in the Music City. The Union answered back in October with a 1-0 win of their own courtesy of a Kacper Przybylko finish from the penalty spot. Nashville SC was undefeated on their home turf during the regular season, going 8-0-9 the propelled them to the No. 3 seed in the East.
Nashville SC comes to Subaru Park after a 3-1 comeback win against No. 6 seed Orlando City SC on Tuesday evening in Tennessee. Orlando City SC struck first with a 14th minute goal from Daryl Dike but Nashville SC responded with a brace from Landon Donovan MVP finalist Hany Mukhtar in the 21st and 74th minute.
