Philadelphia Union II earned a 3-2 road victory over FC Cincinnati 2 at Scudamore Stadium on Sunday, August 30th.Â
Forward Theo Reed gave Union II the lead in the 23rd minute, finishing to send Philadelphia into halftime ahead 1-0.
FC Cincinnati 2 equalized in the 66th minute through Kristian Fletcher, but Union II responded five minutes later as Reed scored his second goal of the match to restore the advantage. Philadelphia added a third in stoppage time when Academy forward John Ruf scored his first professional goal in the 90+5th minute. Cincinnati pulled one back three minutes later through Ademar Chavez, but Union II saw out the remaining moments to secure all three points.
Philadelphia Union II return to Kinetic Field at WSFS Bank Sportsplex on Friday, September 4, to host Columbus Crew 2 (7:00 p.m. ET / OneFootball).
