PHI v FC Dallas
Sun., August 20 | 7:30PM ET

After a break for Leagues Cup, the Boys in Blue return to league play with a contest against Western Conference side FC Dallas on Sunday, August 20th. Both Philadelphia and Dallas have been at the forefront in producing Academy talent while finding success in the regular season as the Texas side finished third in the Western Conference in 2022. The two sides battled to a tight 1-0 affair in a 2022 contest with U.S. Men’s National Team forward Jesus Ferreira scoring the game’s only goal.

PHI @ D.C. United
Sat., August 26 | 7:30PM ET

The Union strike out on the road to kick off a short two-game trip that starts down I-95 at rivals D.C. United on Saturday, August 26th. When it comes to opponents that the Union love to DOOP on, the obvious answer is rivals D.C. United. In fact the Union have scored a club-high 67 goals against the Black and Red in 32 all-time matches and that number high a new high last season. Twice the Boys in Blue battled their I-95 rival and twice they were routs. Julian Carranza became the first player in Union history to record two hat tricks, let alone in the same season against the same opponent with key roles in the 7-0 blowout at Subaru Park followed by the 6-0 road result. D.C. United has been active this offseason with Head Coach Wayne Rooney looking to jump start the squad that finished bottom of the East with offseason acquisitions of Pedro Santos (Columbus), Tyler Miller (Minnesota), Alex Bono (Toronto) as well as Iraqi defender Mohanad Jeahze.

PHI @ Toronto FC
Wed., August 30 | 7:30PM ET

Just three days later the Union head north of the border to close out the month against Toronto FC. No side underwent quite a transition during the 2022 regular season than Toronto FC. Head Coach Bob Bradley saw the club get off to a very slow start but things seemed to click after the DP acquisitions of Bernardeschi and Insigne. Jonathan Osorio is back for 2023 and recently said he expects a resurgence for the Canadian side that split its results against Philadelphia in 2022. Toronto FC handed the Union its first loss of the season with a 2-1 result at BMO in April but the Union capped off the regular season in style behind Daniel Gazdag’s hat trick that resulted in a 4-0 rout on Decision Day.
