U15s come back to win, U17s draw in Saturday's GA Cup action

With one match remaining in 2019-2020 GA Cup qualifying, Philadelphia Union’s U15s and U17s both sit one point out of first place in their groups.

The U15s came from two goals behind to knock off DC United on Saturday. Gael Medrano — the Golden Boot winner for the U13s in the ScotiaBank Concacaf Champions League — earned a brace with Dylan Lacy and Dominic Dubon picking up the other two goals. This leaves the U15s even with New York Red Bulls and behind RSL heading into the final match of qualifying.

The U17s drew 3-3 with DC United but lost in a shootout. The draw earned the Union a point and keeps them one point behind New York Red Bulls, who they will face on Monday. RSL sits at nine points, just behind the Union. Anton Sorensen, Caden Stafford, and Jackson Gilman rippled the net for Philly to earn the point.

With a single game remaining, the Union U17s need to remain in one of the top two spots in their group to advance to the Division 1 GA Cup finals in Dallas. Only the group winners advance in the U15 division.

The Union U17s play at 1pm ET on Monday and the U15s play the final Group C match two hours later.
