Philadelphia Union II is headed to Colombia to take part in Torneo Las Americas Elite that will kick off next week.
The U18 Tournament in South America will see the squad, coached by Marlon LeBlanc, take on some of the top clubs in Colombia. Union II's inclusion in the tournament is a special one as the club becomes the first U.S. based club to participate in the event. The event will see two groups of five teams with the top two finishers in each group advancing to the knockout rounds.
Union II will play four group stage games in four days and will kick off the tournament on Monday, October 18th with a clash against Academia Alemena. The following day, Union II will battle Deportivo Cali before taking on Club Deportivo Aston Villa on Wednesday morning. Union II's group stage concludes on Thursday, October 21st with a match against hosts Real Cartagena.
Should Union II advance to the semifinals, they'd take to the pitch on Saturday, October 23rd with the championship match set for the following day.
