When a new season rolls around, every team in MLS has at least two new things: Players and a kit. The Union have added high-end talent in players like Marco Fabián and Sergio Santos, but they have also added high-end threads with the new, 2019 "Inspired" kit. With a light blue radial extending across the white jersey front, the kit symbolizes the growth of the club over its nine seasons in Major League Soccer, and the bright lights that are rising through its ranks to fill the roster.
The new kit is also customizable in a brand new way. The tag on the back of the jersey near the neck can reflect each fan's relationship with the club. Zach and Julie Ertz's Philadelphia skyline, for example, or Phang's, well, Phang picture!
If you haven't ordered the new kit, swing by the Union shop on March 2. There you can pick a name, number, and back tag all your own before heading out to greet the 2019 Union squad as they embark on another season repping Philly!
Did you miss out on the back tags? Here's what they're all about.
FOUR DAYS OUT: Rock the "Inspired" kit to the opener!
