In his Talen Energy Stadium debut with Bethlehem Steel FC, Philadelphia Union goalkeeper Carlos Miguel Coronel turned in a spectacular performance that has earned him a nomination for the USL Championship Save of the Week.
Coronel was called upon in first-half stoppage time after the referee awarded North Carolina FC a penalty kick. With the momentum in the balance, the Brazilian denied Marios Lomis' attempt from the spot with a dive to his right then jumped up to block the follow-up shot. Coronel's performance in net also earned him a spot on the bench for USL Championship's Team of the Week honors.
Vote now for Coronel and every day because voting is now open and runs through 12 p.m. ET on Friday, March 22!
