Philadelphia Union’s Academy sides wrapped up their time at the 2026 Generation adidas Cup with strong performances across both age groups, highlighted by a U-16 run to the knockout stage.
U-16s
The Union Academy U-16s advanced to the Generation adidas Cup Round of 16, earning their place in the knockout stage with a strong group stage performance.
Philadelphia capped off group play with a decisive 2-0 victory over CF Monterrey, with Samuel Gallego opening the scoring on a free kick before Timoni Gbalajobi added a second to secure advancement.
In the knockout round, the U-16s battled LA Galaxy to a draw before falling in a penalty shootout, bringing their GA Cup run to a close.
U-15s
The Philadelphia Union U-15s opened the tournament with a strong performance, earning a 2-0 victory over Sporting Kansas City in group play.
The Baby Snakes continued to compete against top domestic and international opposition throughout the week, gaining valuable experience against elite competition.
Following group play, the U-15s remained active in showcase matches, highlighted by a 3-0 win over Austin FC.
