FIFA eNations schedule announced

The schedule is set for the inaugural FIFA eNations Cup this weekend, as Philadelphia Union's Cormac "Doolsta" Dooley will represent the United States at the marquee event in London.

40 players representing 20 countries and six confederations will battle it out at Maidstone Studios in Greater London. The competition kicks off on Saturday with the United States placed in Group B with Spain, New Zealand, China and Mexico. Doolsta is slated to play for the Stars and Stripes on PlayStation while MLS Cup runner-up GGGodfather from LA Galaxy will play his matches on XBox.

Group play will consist of a round-robin format with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the quarterfinals. Each match up between two nations in the group stage will consist of three games: the first being on PlayStation in a 1v1 format, the second on Xbox in a 1v1 format and a third match consisting of a 2v2 format.

The console for the third game will be decided prior by both teams based on their individual preference. Each match-up between two nations in the group stage can result in 0-9 points and is counted towards the overall group table. The 2v2 format will only come in to play in the knockout rounds if points after the PlayStation and Xbox knockouts are tied.

In addition to international glory and a prize pool of USD 100,000, with the winning nation taking home USD 40,000, competing players will also have the chance to win up to 1,500 EA SPORTS FIFA 19 Global Series points. It therefore presents an ideal opportunity to move up the FIFA 19 Global Series Rankings and take a significant step forward on the Road to the FIFA eWorld Cup™ 2019.
