ESPN2 will be airing an eight-hour MLS programming marathon featuring four classic matches on Monday, April 6 — which also happens to be the anniversary of the league's inaugural match.
That historic first match between the San Jose Clash and D.C. United, which originally aired on ESPN, will be shown in its entirety that same day as part of the MLS Classics: Remix series at 4 pm ET on Monday on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, MLSsoccer.com, and the free official MLS app.
Here's the ESPN2 lineup that will follow at 6 pm ET:
- 6 pm ET: MLS Cup 1996 - D.C. United vs. LA Galaxy
- 8 pm ET: MLS Cup 2001 - San Jose Earthquakes vs. LA Galaxy
- 10 pm ET: LA Galaxy vs. Chelsea (Beckham's debut: July 21, 2007)
- 12 am ET: LA Galaxy vs. LAFC (El Trafico: 2019 Western Conference Semifinal)
ESPN2's programming marathon will anchor MLS-themed content across multiple ESPN platforms, including on-demand streaming of a collection of historic matches on ESPN+, a special edition of Banter with Taylor Twellman digital show, and two classic matches on ESPN Deportes.
