Alejandro Bedoya to be featured on ESPN special Monday night

Philadelphia Union captain Alejandro Bedoya will be featured Monday night as ESPN hosts a two-hour SportsCenter special on the return of sports. The special will air on ESPN beginning at 9 p.m. ET on Monday, June 15th.


Bedoya will be joined by the majority of the American sports commissioners with Gary Bettman (NHL), Cathy Engelbert (WNBA), Don Garber (MLS), Roger Goodell (NFL), Rob Manfred (MLB) and Adam Silver (NBA) expected to participate in the two-hour special.


Other athletes to be interviewed include Calais Campbell (NFL/Baltimore Ravens), Damian Lillard (NBA/ Portland Trailblazers), Patrick Kane (NHL/Chicago Blackhawks), Crystal Dunn (NWSL/NC Courage), Brianna Turner (WNBA/Phoenix Mercury) and ESPN commentator and WNBA player Chiney Ogwumike.


The Return of Sports discussions also will include ABC News Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Jennifer Ashton, Los Angeles Angels manager Joe Maddon, and ESPN soccer analyst Taylor Twellman.


Hosted by Mike Greenberg, the ESPN special will also discuss social justice reform efforts among leagues, teams and players that have come to the forefront following the death of George Floyd and with worldwide demonstrations calling for justice, equality and the condemnation of racism.
