With three points in the column, Philadelphia Union continues with match two at the MLS is Back Tournament but with a different opponent than it was scheduled to play when it defeated New York City FC. With Nashville and Dallas having to drop out of the tournament due to COVID-19 concerns, Group A has been reduced to four teams which lead to a revamped schedule. The Union now square off with MLS newcomers Inter Miami CF for the first matchup in regular season history on Tuesday, July 14 at 10:30 PM on TUDN and Twitter.

Miami is still in search of their first point in club history having dropped their first three matchups, including their most recent match against Orlando City in opening match of the tournament. The Union have arguably already overcome their toughest opponent by defeating Group A favorite NYCFC 1-0 on Thursday morning, however, Miami will not be an easy feat.

Head Coach Jim Curtin addressed their versatility in his presser on Sunday, “[Miami is] a great blend of really experienced MLS players and some good young, dynamic defensive and attacking pieces.” The Union do have some game film on their Tuesday night opponent, having faced Inter Miami during preseason and Coach Curtin is confident the team is prepared to take on their attacking strategy and defensive tactics.

One of the Union’s biggest strengths is their ability to confidently rotate the center back position. As for who will get the nod to play on Tuesday, the coaching staff will take into account all of Miami’s options up top, but Coach Curtin in confident in all four possible guys (Mark McKenzie, Jack Elliott, Aurelien Collin, Jakob Glesnes) to step up.

Players to Watch
Kacper Przybylko – The friendly striker is always hungry for a big moment and had a few chances against NYC. Look for him to continue to try to capitalize and put one in the back of the net on Tuesday.

Whoever is at Center Back - Although Coach Curtin did not hint who would get the start, he is confident in his options. Whoever it is will definitely have their hands full trying to contain Miami’s attacks.

Juan Agudelo - The experienced and skillful forward will continue to attack and look to lead his club to its first ever win.

Luis Robles - Miami’s goalkeeper has a lot of experience (and likely some bad memories) against the Union…remember last year’s playoff match against NYRB?
