Match Preview: Bethlehem Steel FC vs. Louisville City FC

QUOTE SHEET

CHESTER, Pa. (May 24, 2019) – Bethlehem Steel FC (3-5-3) looks to avenge their final loss of 2018 and get back on track in 2019 when the club hosts Louisville City FC (5-4-2) at Talen Energy Stadium this Sunday afternoon.

Last time out Steel FC suffered a tough 3-0 loss against Ottawa Fury FC despite controlling the opening portion of the game and creating most of the early chances. Head Coach Brendan Burke and his crew were determined to turn the page after that result and the healthy return of Andre Blake for Philadelphia Union means Carlos Miguel Coronel can step between the pipes again for the Steel against a strong Louisville attack that likes to move the ball around.

If Ben Lundt is in goal for the Kentucky side, then it could be a tough night for Steel FC’s attacking players. The Steel hold the edge over LouCity in terms of goals scored this year (16-15), but trail on goal differential (-4) with the visitors sitting at +1. Former Union head coach John Hackworth and winger Danny Cruz will make their return to Talen Energy Stadium as the head coach and assistant coach respectively for Louisville.

Bethlehem Steel FC hosts Louisville City FC at Talen Energy Stadium on Sunday, May 26 at 2:00 p.m. ET. Tickets are available here with the match set to be broadcast on ESPN+.
