Philadelphia Union II were unable to snap the Chattanooga FC's unbeaten streak on Saturday night, falling by a 4-0 margin at Finley Stadium.
The second-year MLS NEXT Pro side started strong with a 12th minute finish from Ameziane Sid Mohand, marking his first professional goal in his MLS NextPRO career. Philadelphia got the chance for a free kick, but sent it far left of the goalposts.
Philadelphia attempted to respond, but it wasn’t enough to keep Nathan Koehler from scoring a header in the 37th minute, putting the Finley Faithful in a 2-0 advantage. Sid Mohand looked poised to cut into the deficit from the left side of the box, but got caught in defensive trouble with a block from Union’s Finn Sundstrom. The Union fell into foul trouble, failing to score a goal in the first half.
Just 90 seconds into the second half, Damien Barker John scored his seventh goal of the season, setting a new career high and extending CFC's lead to 3-0. Chattanooga put the match further out of reach for Philadelphia in the 74th minute when Daniel Mangarov netted the team's fourth goal.
Philadelphia Union II will travel to Belson Stadium on Saturday, August 1st to take on NYCFC II at 7:00 p.m. ET on OneFootball.
